LONDON — English thesp Jamie Campbell Bower, who starred in Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd,” will be reigning over the Croisette at next month’s Mip TV sales mart.
Campbell Bower, who plays the young King Arthur, is to join fellow cast members Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green in Cannes to help hype the new Starz skein “Camelot,” which makes its U.S. bow in April.
“Camelot” is distributed by GK-tv, which is responsible for bringing over the talent.
Reed Midem’s director of television Laurine Garaude predicts that Mip will witness a lot of activity around TV drama, inspired by shows like the keenly anticipated “Camelot.”
“We are seeing increasing amounts of fiction created specifically for the international market and a lot of co-production in this area,” she said.
Rodolphe Belmer, chief operating officer Canal Plus, and David Frank, CEO, Zodiak Media Group, will present keynotes on April 4, kicking off the market’s 2011 producers’ forum, which is focusing on co-production.
